Day two-Christmas Story

Yawn..ok tired as heck today.  Emotional roller coaster.  So now I am about to start a story...just for the heck of it. :)  Its my Christmas story, trying to make someone smile...even if its just me.

The little girl looked out the window of her bedroom and sighed.  She knew today was going to be hard. All her friends were going to be busy getting ready for Christmas.  They had family coming over for the whole week, some even longer than that.  She didn't have any family out here.  Her aunts and uncles lived very far away in another state.
This meant that she would have no one to play with for a while and that made her sad.  She was happiest when she was outside playing with all her friends.  Most of them were boys but that didn't matter to her, because she loved playing all the sports and was just as good if not better in many of them.

With another heavy sigh she got up and went into the kitchen.  Her mom was there washing dishes.
"Mom, is anyone coming over for Christmas?"  she asked hopeful to not hear the same answer she hears every year.
"Why yes as a matter of fact" her mother said, "your Grandpa is coming this year, he just called"
"GRANDPA??!!" She yelled as she jumped off the chair she just sat in.  "Really? he is really coming over?"
"Yes" her mother replied. "he will be here in a few hours actually."
She loved her Grandpa so much.  She secretly believed he was the real Santa Claus.  He looked just like him and laughed like him too.  Oh how wonderful, she thought, someone is coming to our house! Someone she loved so much too!

... to be continued...
